Our Why
We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and affirming environment where Black women can feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Our mission is to empower Black women to prioritize their self-care and invest in themselves without hesitation. At Purposefully Painted, we are more than just a nail care brand; we are a community that values and uplifts Black women.
Far too often, Black women (and men) are vilified and followed around the store like criminals. They are dismissed when they voice their dissatisfaction with the service received and immediately stereotyped in some of these establishments. We understand the impact that these experiences can have on black women's overall well-being, and that's why Purposefully Painted was created.
At Purposefully Painted, we recognized the need for a safe space where Black women could invest in their physical self-care without compromise. Far too often, Black women have had to endure the trauma of patronizing businesses that do not have their best interests at heart. Nail salons, beauty supply stores, and similar self-care businesses have been willing to accept money from Black women without being willing to accept the black woman herself.
Our Mission
At Purposefully Painted, our mission is to empower Black women by providing a safe space for self-care & wellness that is free from societal pressures and the effects of racism. We achieve this by offering uniquely handcrafted semi-permanent gel nails, educational resources, homeschooling activities, community events, and building a supportive community. Through these efforts, we aim to uplift and celebrate the beauty of black women while creating opportunities for personal growth and healing.
Our Vision
Our vision at Purposefully Painted is to empower Black women to embrace a life of radical self-love, legacy building, and unapologetic ease by providing high-quality, handmade semi-permanent gel nails, education, homeschooling activities, events, and a supportive community. We aspire to be a trusted and premier brand that celebrates the Black beauty and unique journeys of Black women.
